judging by her surroundings as packs her things while she speaks towards the far caster, it seems that she’s taken residence in, well, the queen’s residence. ]

I hope this isn’t presumptuous of me to ask on this but— I’m hoping to offer my healing services to those here in the Queen's Residence or around the city for free.

However I’ve been informed that it’ll be in my best interest if I had an escort with me when I do this. If anyone is willing to keep me company, I would be grateful for it and be willing to pay you back somehow. You're all welcome to seek me for healing too, of course.

[ she pauses. as if considering something.

usually, she would end her message here and refocus her attention on the next task at hand - in this case, her packing for her when she heads out - but... ]

What do you mean by fortune telling though?

[ zita can be seen physically perking up at the offer of someone else to help others in need. ]

You would be willing? I would hate to make you feel obligated, but it would be nice to have company who could also help. Many people are in need of aid in wake of the fire. [ she tries to not blanche at the memory of the fire and the fights. getting literally stabbed in the back is not how she would have liked to spend her first night in this new world.

but she tries to focus on the conversation at hand now, reminding herself to answer the question that had just been asked— ] I happen to have my tarot cards. They're what I use to read others' fortunes, since I also offer these services back at my booth in the Midnight Carnival.

Yeah, of course! Don't worry, it's not out of obligation— it's because I do want to help. [ and well she believes that helping each other is how they'll get through this too]

I've never heard of something like that before. You can actually tell something like that from a deck of cards?

Yes, I can. I may not be strong in the fields of divination, but I like to think I've been taught it well enough to pick up the energies and signs that cards attempt to tell me.

[ maybe giving a show of it will help prove it. zita can be seen turning her attention back to the bag before her, rifling through it until she pulls something out.

and it happens to be a container of some sort. small and slick in stature, black-and-gold in design. that must be where she keeps her cards. ]

Would you like an example? I wouldn't mind doing a quick read for you, if you're interested in it.

[clarke looks curious more than anything at how that all works so she just nods at that] Yeah, I would like that. So how does it work exactly?

Excellent. I promise to do my best in giving you an accurate reading.

[ she now opens the deck and begins to shuffle the cards, also black and gold in design. a few flashes from the cards while zita cuts and switches them up reveals designs on the faces - oddly macabre ones, consisting of skulls and bones.

while she tidies up her table so there's enough space on the bedside table, she explains what needs to be done: ]

First- You must think of a situation or a problem you're facing at the moment. One that you would like a solution for or a better understanding of.

You don't need to say it aloud. The energies you give of when thinking of it will be enough for the cards to pick up on.

Okay, I can try to do that. [clarke just nods at that and starts to look in thought because choosing one problem? well that's easier said than done. for clarke it's something that's always on her mind and that's protecting her people and thinking to figure out a solution so that they survive the world ending once again back home.

how is she supposed to do that while she's here? was it even the right choice to come here when she doesn't know for certain whether her wish would be granted? she doesn't say it aloud but the worry and concern are probably evident in what zita can pick up from her]

Alright. We'll start the reading then.

[ zita has now laid out five cards across the table, face down, and she gestures to the first two to her left. ]

We will reveal the first two cards. The first card represents you and your current situation, while the second card represents what action you can take.

[ she then flips the cards over so she can begin to inspect them to understand their meaning. her expression can be best described as 'troubled' despite her attempts to keep a neutral expression - her brow furrows and her lips thin into a severe line, her body tensing as she poured over the results.

due to the angle of her far caster and the fact there are surprisingly few lights on on zita's end, it's difficult to tell what the revealed cards are supposed to be. the most that one could tell is that there were skulls and skeletons on the illustrations, though it seems to be the motif of the deck as a whole.

so it's a good thing that zita is narrating what is before her: ]

Your first card is Judgement, reversed. Great changes are coming. Not only you but to others as well. Most likely they are those who you care for - Family. Friends. Lovers, new and old and unknown. Not only that but the issue you face requires something... something heavy on your end. Something personal. It could be a choice you have to make or a sacrifice you must give, but, whatever it is, it is a demanding one.

Perhaps that's why you're turning away from the call. I wouldn't say you're shunning the call - that'll be too strong a statement for me to make, for my powers are too weak to pick up such nuances - but it's clear you're worried. You bear a heavy burden on your shoulders and it weighs you down because you know others will be affected as well.

Which is why I find your second card an intriguing one: It is the Tower, reversed. The Tower always represents in the Arcana as a sign of both great chaos and change coming. It cannot be stopped. It cannot be delayed. It will come, no matter what.

In its normal position, it is the often the world and environment that will be upturned. In its reversed position, it is the individual and, most times, it is from within.

You will go through great upheavals, terrifying ones even, but you must not only embrace it but endure it to get through your crisis. You can also consider the Tower as it is as a warning for what is ahead. It is trying to tell that Judgement is, indeed, going to ask from you something hefty and is telling you to prepare for it should you wish to prevent an upcoming disaster.

[ she falls quiet, allowing clarke to think over what had been said. already zita can tell this will be a heavy read and she wants to give the young woman some time to think about what is being told to her.

after allowing a minute to pass, she speaks up: ] Before we continue - if you want to continue - would you like me to make this line of ours private? The next three cards of the reading are very personal.

[clarke listens and from hearing the words, it was a lot to take in and she was in slight awe of how accurate the reading was so far. she couldn't really claim any of it wasn't true either and there was a lot that resonated with her from the reading in addition to raising a few questions of her own as she thinks it over. hearing the question she nods, mostly curious to hear more] Yeah, I want to continue and if you could make it private that would be good too.
